Brand New Pair of Southwest Speed Triple Chrome Plated Economy Headers for 1942-1948 Flat Head Fords with 136-255ci V-8 Engines (SWS Part #440-2467).
Hot Rods, Street Rods, Rat Rods & Nostalgia Rods are hotter than ever, and nothing gives your vintage rod that racy look and sound like a set of our headers. These are the simplest Flat Head Ford V-8 headers that we produce. 3 into 1 all 1-3/4" tubes with no collector, these headers are designed to have the exhaust welded straight to the 1-3/4" outlet pipes. Complete with header bolts and gaskets. Ground parallel with .300" flanges on the mounting surface. Although these are 42-48 Ford Car specific headers, they will fit many other applications with usually a minimum of changes.
Note: Consult the known restrictions below to insure headers will fit your vehicle and application. We suggest also having someone competent in header installation assist with this project.
Features:
- 1-3/4" primaries with a 3 into 1 design
- Exhaust welds directly to the 1-3/4" outlets
- Great for some Hot Rods, Rat Rods & Street Rods
- Easily adapted to many applications and engine swap combinations
- More Performance
- Better Fuel Mileage
- Great Choice to replace cast iron exhaust manifolds
- Enhances the looks of any rod
- Includes gaskets and bolts
- Triple Chrome Plated to resist early corrosion
Applications:
- Fits 136, 221, 239, & 255 Cubic Inch Flat Head Ford V-8 engines
- Will bolt to all 32-53 Flat Head Ford V-8 blocks
- Won't fit V8-60 Engines
Known Restrictions:
- Generally will not fit stock Model T or A due to narrow frame width, particularly on passenger side
- Generally will not fit with stock steering on 32-34 cars, but works well with the Vega cross-steer setup.
- Works well in 35-41 Fords using our 105-7974 Vega steering box bracket and Vega steering boxes.
- 42-48 cars will occasionally require shimming of motor mounts to raise engine to clear steering linkage.
- 49-51 cars will have fitting problems due to interference with stock steering box and steering linkage.
- On Most pickups the steering box can normally be clearanced slightly to allow these headers to be used.
Chrome Warning:
Due to a revised chroming process brought on by recent EPA regulations and high labor costs, today's chrome is not the quality of days gone by. Be Aware: Exhaust components which are chrome plated are now much more susceptible to blueing, blistering, peeling & corrosion. We see very few headers that do not change color once exhaust temperatures are achieved. No warranty or returns on chrome exhaust items once they have been installed.
Header Return Policy:
Please refer to the header measurement chart below to make sure the header will fit your vehicle and application before ordering. In the event you order a header that will not fit your vehicle and application, you may return them for a refund, providing you don't damage the header. When you receive the header the finish will be protected and must remain unscratched for a refund. If you bend or dimple any of the tubes or scratch the finish, we will not be able to sell the header and will not be able to process a refund. Use care when trial fitting headers. Repack them well to prevent damage returning them to us. We won't process refunds for scratched, dimpled, dented, or bent headers.
